📖 - Welcome to the Cookbook for a Sacred Life

Namaste, everyone. I’m Ann from Maui. Reading Be Here Now in 1971 as a freshman at the University of Michigan gave me hope for a life with deeper meaning. Fifty some years later I met Ram Dass at the beach here and listen to his lectures. I will always carry his heart in my heart. I’m thankful for another course offering here.

hello to all! I’m Marjan from Belgium (that small country between Germany and France ). Didn’t read the book ‘Be here now’; but followed latest course, Pause, Breathe, Be Here Now on OneCommune and also follow Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. I’m very happy to have this virtual opportunity to deepen my inner freedom and become more mindful in daily life

Johanna from Northern BC Canada. I first heard of Ram Dass many years ago, however, never read anything until recently when i walks into my Buddha store and Be Here Now was there staring me in the face. I bought the only copy they brought in (they were unsure who would buy it so didn’t bring in many copies) I have now read it from front to back and have shared it with many friends. I am looking forward to learning and connecting with this group.

Hello all!

I’m Paola and live in Munich, Germany. I’m Italian:smiling_face:. I am a seeker and a curious person. I am interested in the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharashi through David Godman and got to know Jack Kornfield and through him Ram Dass. I have not read his book. I’m honored to attend this course! :pray:t2:

Hi, I’m Sujeeth from India. I first saw Ram Dass post on Instagram and then started watching his videos and lectures on podcast and eventually started chanting the name of Shree Neem Karoli Baba. My life has changed significantly ever since I surrendered to Maharajji.
I would like to learn more about this sadhana and hopefully connect with my eternal Gurus.

Namaste! I am in Lancaster county PA surrounded by bucolic rolling hills, Amish neighbors, and deeply divided by politics and cultural view points. At 72 the saying “The more things change the more they stay the same” rings very true for me. Be Here Now came into my awareness at the height of the Vietnam War Peace Movement, the consciousness (via LSD), and political revolutions. It was awakening on steroids, thank God. BHN brought together so much of the spiritual experience of confusion and clarity into a cohesive model. So much so that the book is with me continually. My intention is to continue building the community that started for me over half a century ago.

I’m Jeremy from the western New York area. Looking forward to enjoying this course and maybe “meeting” a few like-minded folks here.

I’m fairly new to Ram Dass beyond knowing the whole Richard Alpert-Ram Dass story as part of 60’s American lore. Didn’t read Be Here Now until maybe a year ago. I have practiced Zen Buddhism for over twenty years and have benefitted greatly but I have also recently found something very enticing about what I see in Ram Dass and wider Hindu thought. Although there are some divergences from what I have practiced for years I still feel a certain connection as well. Hoping to continue to work along these lines with you folks.

Greeting fellow travelers my name is Randall! This is my first time here in the LSRF community and look forward to learning with you all.

In the 90’s I owned Inner Journey Bookstore in Babylon, New York and I was introduced to Ram Dass in our collection and through teachers that came through our center. Skip to many lives later in 2021, I had gone back to my childhood home to take care of my mother going through cancer treatment and was feeling a need to reconnect to my spirit so I started to mediate and chant with Krishna Das. Then one day I found the Here and Now podcast and it reawaken my soul in soul.

I am excited to continue my journey here will all of you.

Welcome Jeremy, thanks for joining the course!
Ram Dass often spoke of the many paths we can take in this life, and I’ve noticed myself sway between various traditions and schools of thought throughout the years as well. I hope you enjoy this course and the journey it takes you on!

It’s a pleasure to have you here with us John!
I hope you’re able to make the Live community calls each Thursday for this course - it’s wonderful to see how many of us are following a similar path, despite such different life circumstances; and have time to connect face to face (even if virtually).

Such a potent reminder! Love those little bits of wisdom Ram Dass has given us. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
